Students from Komen Primary School showcased exceptional talent in robotics, securing multiple victories at an international competition. Two teams from the school, BoraPower and BoraForce, competed in different categories during the European Robotics Championship, achieving remarkable results. The competition took place in Dunaj, with participants from across Europe. BoraPower's team members, Lukas Fakin Draž and Žiga Bolje, participated in the Soccer Standard Kit 1:1 category, where their robot was tasked with quickly detecting an infrared ball and directing it toward the opponent’s goal. Their consistent performance and technical skill earned them eighth place overall. The other team, BoraForce, consisting of Gašper Bolje, Rene Marušič, and Manuel Milanič, competed in the Rescue Line Entry category. Their robot had to follow a path accurately, navigate obstacles, and successfully rescue simulated victims on the course. After nearly flawless runs through six challenges, they emerged victorious among thirty European teams, claiming the title of European champions. Their success was further highlighted by their participation in the demanding technical challenge known as the Speed Zone Challenge. In one afternoon, they managed to reprogram their robot to adjust its speed automatically based on markers on the track, completing the task without any errors. On the final day of the competition, BoraForce also entered the Rescue SuperTeam Entry category, which brought together teams from different countries and categories. They collaborated with competitors from Germany, working together to navigate a complex course. Both teams coordinated seamlessly, opening individual segments of the path to allow progress toward the finish line. Their flawless execution led to another victory, adding a second win to their tally at the European championship. The young athletes' achievements were the result of outstanding teamwork. Throughout the competition, both teams supported each other, encouraged one another, and collectively sought solutions. This collaborative spirit turned the success of each team into a shared achievement. The students fully justified the slogan printed on their jerseys: “We blow problems away.” (We push problems aside.) Their accomplishments were celebrated by Republic President Nataša Pirc Musar, who congratulated them on their success. This year marked a record-breaking season for the robotics program at Komen Primary School. With three national championships and two European titles, the school has achieved its most successful year in the 17 years since the initiative began. The students' dedication and technical proficiency have not only elevated their standing in regional competitions but also placed them among the top young roboticists in Europe. Their performances underscored the growing strength of Slovenian youth in STEM fields and demonstrated the potential of educational programs focused on innovation and problem-solving.
