Mitsubishi has announced the return of its iconic Pajero model after five years, marking the debut of its fifth-generation variant. The new Pajero is set to make its market debut in early 2027, starting with sales in Thailand, followed by Japan and Australia. The vehicle will eventually be available on approximately 100 markets worldwide, reflecting the brand’s continued commitment to rugged off-road performance and robust design. The decision to reintroduce the Pajero comes after the previous generation was discontinued in 2021 without a direct successor. This move positions the new model as a competitor to vehicles such as Toyota's Land Cruiser, emphasizing its durability and capability for demanding terrain. The Pajero's return underscores Mitsubishi's strategy to leverage its legacy while adapting to modern consumer expectations. The new Pajero shares its foundation with the Triton pickup truck, utilizing a classic ladder-frame chassis.
