One individual, a 27-year-old woman in the lorry, suffered minor knee injuries and was taken to Kimbimbi Level IV Hospital for treatment. The lorry driver has been arrested and is currently in custody awaiting further investigation into the cause of the accident. Both the lorry and the tuk-tuk sustained extensive damage and were towed to the police station for inspection. The bodies of the deceased were transported to Kerugoya Level V Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem examinations and identification. Separately, in Eldoret, a major highway crash led to the death of three individuals, bringing the total number of fatalities to 12. According to local reports, the incident took place on the Eldoret-Nakuru highway, a frequently used route connecting western Kenya to the capital, Nairobi. Details surrounding the crash remain unclear, though authorities have confirmed that the death toll has risen to 11, with one additional fatality reported later in the day. Emergency services worked through the night to rescue survivors and transport the injured to nearby hospitals. In Marsabit, another tragic accident resulted in multiple deaths, though exact numbers have yet to be officially released. Local officials are still assessing the situation, and more information is expected as investigations continue.
