The doping case involving Ukrainian international Mychajlo Mudryk has concluded with an agreement between the player and the English Football Association (FA). However, the parties eventually agreed to settle the dispute through a compromise. The outcome followed changes to WADA’s technical guidelines regarding the detection of Meldonium. Mudryk admitted to violating anti-doping rules but stated he had never knowingly or intentionally taken a prohibited substance. On social media, Mudryk expressed relief over the conclusion of the process. “I am grateful that this process has come to an end,” he wrote. “I have received clearance to return to football and can now look ahead.” He reiterated his innocence, insisting that he had not acted with intent or knowledge. FC Chelsea signed Mudryk from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk in 2023 for up to £100 million. As of now, the player has made 73 appearances for the London-based team. His return to action marks a significant moment for both the club and the player, especially given the high-profile nature of the case.
