Prahlad Kumar, identified as the accused, reportedly assaulted Deepak Chopra, the former treasurer of the society’s Apartment Owners Association (AOA). Police confirmed that the attack took place around 7am. Chopra was returning to his flat after dropping his children at the school bus when Kumar entered the same lift. According to the assistant commissioner of police, Priyashree Pal, Chopra, who resides in Tower 8 of GH-7 Society, was in the process of returning home when Kumar joined him in the lift. The confrontation began after Kumar accused Chopra of misusing society funds. Chopra, in turn, claimed Kumar had engaged in corrupt practices. The conflict quickly turned physical, with Kumar launching a sustained assault on Chopra within the confined space of the lift.
