Last seen around 8:10 PM the previous day, the sisters were last spotted in the same street where the store is located. The father initially thought they might have been playing a prank, given their growing independence. As time passed, however, concern turned into fear. He noted that one daughter did not have her phone, which had broken earlier, and the family was waiting to purchase a new one. Authorities launched a wide-scale search involving police, military police, and civil protection teams. Surveillance footage from the area was reviewed, and witnesses were questioned. The mayor of San Cataldo, Gioacchino Comparato, urged residents to share any information through social media, emphasizing the urgency of the situation. The family also issued a similar appeal.
