The confrontation escalated when the man launched an antisemitic tirade, shouting, “That’s because of the damn Jews!” Eliasson, who is Jewish, responded by revealing his identity and urging the man to stop. The man attempted to strike him, missing his face by several centimeters. He continued hurling antisemitic slurs such as “damn Jew,” “you have to cut their heads off,” and “filthy scum.” Eliasson attempted to identify the attacker with police by photographing his moped license plate, but the man voluntarily handed over his ID. When Eliasson called the police, the man fled on his moped. Eliasson has since filed a formal complaint against the individual. The Berlin police confirmed they are investigating the case under suspicion of assault, incitement to hatred, and defamation. The suspect is a 68-year-old man. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are seeking further information to determine the extent of the attack. The Greens' local branch in Steglitz-Zehlendorf issued a statement expressing solidarity with Eliasson and all Jews in Germany facing antisemitism. Eliasson allegedly violated all three rules. Nox argued that the organizers sought to silence him by cutting off his microphone, suggesting they wished to suppress his views.
