According to reports, the local branch of the party Možemo praised the liberation of 40 parking spots previously occupied by derelict cars. The municipality's traffic enforcement department removed these vehicles from the area of the urban district Podsused-Vrapče. In a Facebook post, the group emphasized that this was a concrete example of how reporting problems can make a difference and free up space intended for citizens. They advised residents to report sightings of abandoned or unregistered vehicles to the traffic enforcement department if they notice such cars occupying parking spaces for years. The city had previously announced a large-scale initiative aimed at removing unregistered vehicles and debris from areas designated for public use. Owners of such vehicles will initially receive a notice requiring them to remove their car within three days. If they fail to comply or ignore the decision made by the municipal traffic officer, a more complex and costly process follows. In such cases, the vehicle is forcibly removed and transported to an appropriate disposal site. The municipal traffic officer is required to inform the owner of this action. If the owner does not collect the vehicle within eight days of receiving the notification and does not cover the costs of removal and storage, the vehicle will either be sold at a public auction or recycled at the owner’s expense, depending on its estimated value. In other words, higher-value vehicles could potentially return to the market, while lower-value ones would be dismantled. To prevent such scenarios, drivers, vehicle owners, are given a total of 11 days to retrieve their vehicle and reimburse the city for all associated costs. A single report might seem trivial, but the removal of 40 derelict vehicles means 40 additional parking spaces have been freed up. The branch of Možemo concluded that reporting issues that occupy public space helps improve neighborhoods.
