According to official statements, Fedorova, who works for the media empire of French billionaire Vincent Bollore, has been accused of spreading disinformation about Ukraine and Western policies. She frequently appears on the CNews television channel and Europe 1 radio, and contributes to the Le Journal du Dimanche newspaper. Following the announcement of the expulsion order, Fedorova was placed under house arrest and required to report daily to a police station. Her legal team, led by Emmanuel Piwnica, has vowed to challenge the decision in court. They argue that the order constitutes a severe violation of free speech rights. In a statement, Fedorova’s employers expressed shock at the decision, calling it a “particularly serious infringement of freedom of expression.” Fedorova, a former head of the French branch of RT, was previously associated with state-controlled Russian media before the outlet was banned in France following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
