Kiera Bell, a former patient at the Tavistock Centre who received puberty-blocking drugs as a child and later expressed regret over her experience, criticized the court’s decision. She described the approval of the trial as a tragedy and warned against the potential harm such interventions can cause. Bell stated that the trial reflects a broader issue within the medical community, suggesting that the pursuit of such research may conflict with ethical considerations surrounding the protection of children.
