A 48-year-old school principal was found dead in her home in Telangana's Nalgonda district with 27 stab wounds, according to local police. Roopa Reddy, principal and director of Nagarjuna Grammar English Medium School in Kondamallepally, was discovered by neighbors after her husband, Kallu Rajender Reddy, failed to reach her. On Tuesday morning, Roopa had returned alone to Kondamallepally to attend school. She stayed there until approximately 5:30 pm before returning home, informing colleagues that friends were expected to visit. However, she did not appear at school on Wednesday, and when her husband tried to contact her, he was unable to reach her. After receiving reports of her absence, Rajender reached out to Chintapalli sub-inspector Rammurthy, who resides next door, requesting assistance in checking on his wife. Accompanied by neighbors, Rammurthy visited the residence and found Roopa lying in a pool of blood. A subsequent examination of the premises by police, including the use of a dog squad, confirmed the presence of 27 stab wounds. No cash or valuables were missing from the house, leading investigators to rule out theft as a likely motive. Devarakonda deputy superintendent of police M V Srinivas Rao stated that the police are considering the possibility that someone familiar with Roopa may have carried out the attack.
