A small pierogi shop in Szczecin was fined 500 zł for selling a bottle of water without issuing a receipt, an incident that occurred during their move to a new location. The shop’s employees were criticized online after the control by the State Fiscal Office (KAS) was reported. In response, the head of KAS, Marcin Łoboda, defended his staff against public criticism, emphasizing that controls are meant to uphold legal compliance and protect honest businesses. He condemned any form of harassment directed at KAS officers. Meanwhile, the Northern Economic Chamber in Szczecin expressed concern over the fine, stressing the importance of balanced enforcement that considers specific circumstances like seasonal operations.
