According to reports from Variety, the cause of death was hypertensive cardiovascular disease, and Bauza passed away at his home on Sunday. The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s records confirm the cause of death as hypertensive cardiovascular disease. Bauza was born on December 7, 1979, in Ontario, Canada, to parents of Filipino descent. In a 2021 interview with NBC News, he recalled growing up as a devoted fan of Looney Tunes cartoons, noting that he attempted to mimic the characters' voices during his childhood. He described the franchise as transcending language and culture, asserting that the humor was universally understood regardless of geographic origin. His professional trajectory continued the tradition established by Mel Blanc, the legendary voice actor who defined many of these classic characters for decades. Throughout his career, which spanned more than 400 credited roles according to some accounts, or 935 voice roles across 249 titles according to others, Bauza became one of the most requested voice actors in the industry. His first credit was in the series The Ripping Friends in 2001. Subsequent work included voicing characters in Avatar: The Last Airbender, Chowder, Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, Fanboy and Chum Chum, and Ben 10: Omniverse. He also voiced the title character in The Adventures of Puss in Boots and Baby Fozzie in Muppet Babies. A notable early breakthrough occurred when he assumed the role of Stimpy from Billy West in Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon, a mature adaptation of the original Nickelodeon series. Bauza officially joined the Looney Tunes roster in 2020. For many newer audiences, he became synonymous with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. He added two more Children’s and Family Emmys in subsequent years: one in 2023 for Bugs Bunny Builders and another in 2025 for Teen Titans Go!. He was nominated for five Emmy Awards total for his work on Looney Tunes Cartoons, Muppet Babies, and The Adventures of Puss in Boots, with an additional nomination for Daffy in Wackyland. Channing Dungey, Chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group and US Networks, issued a statement praising Bauza’s contributions. She described him as a unique voice talent who brought joy and laughter to millions worldwide. Dungey noted that during his 15 years with Warner Bros. Animation, Bauza carried on the legendary legacy of the Looney Tunes, a task he considered among the greatest honors of his life. Bauza is survived by his wife, Jessica, whom he married in 2016, and their son.
