These items were available in stores operated by Rudnidis, Spar Slovenia, Jagros, Megadom IC Podskrajnik, and ZOO Center, which specializes in pet supplies. The sand used in these toys was found to contain asbestos fibers, posing a health risk. The recall comes after routine inspections conducted by the Health Inspectorate identified the presence of asbestos in three specific toys. In addition, seven other sand-filled toys were tested and found to be free of asbestos. The affected toys include the Sensory Blocks set from TickiT, the Kiddo World Mega Building Set from Shantou Ducky Toys, and the Orb Funkee Monkee Hairdo filled with sand. These products were sold through multiple retail chains across Slovenia. The Health Inspectorate confirmed that the sand used in these toys contained asbestos fibers, which can cause serious respiratory issues if inhaled over time. Parents are being advised to check their homes for these products and remove them immediately to prevent exposure. Other toys tested and cleared of asbestos include the Elastikorps Monster Collection 3 from Best Toy Forever, distributed by BETR, the Sensory Sand 5 kg from Jochen Heil, distributed by Satko, and the Tuban Tubi Sands and Dynamic Sand 5 kg from Tuban Trade, also distributed by Satko. Additional products deemed safe included the Deco Sand 1 kg Kinetic Sand from CWR, distributed by Satko, the Junior Play Sand Kinetic Sand from Eren Egitici Oyuncak Kirtasiye, distributed by HARTIS, the Kidea Mobil Sand from GLOBO, distributed by Eurospin Eko, and the Magic Sand from Johntoy, distributed by Baron International. The Health Inspectorate has been conducting regular checks on children's toys to ensure compliance with safety standards. This latest incident highlights the ongoing need for vigilance in monitoring product safety, particularly for items intended for young children who may put them in their mouths or inhale particles.
