A new version of the Korean-built pickup truck known as the KGM Musso Grand has entered the Slovenian market, offering updated styling, improved comfort features, and enhanced safety technology while retaining its core function as a workhorse. The vehicle, previously marketed under the Ssangyong brand before being rebranded as KG Mobility, now arrives with a redesigned exterior and interior, aiming to attract buyers who seek both utility and modern conveniences. The Musso Grand is available in a larger size compared to the standard Musso model, measuring 545 centimeters in length—30 centimeters longer than the regular variant, which will not be sold in Slovenia. The redesigned Musso Grand features a completely new exterior design, which may appeal to some drivers more than others. Its presence on Slovenian roads is notable due to both its appearance and its substantial dimensions. Inside, the cabin has undergone significant changes, including a new infotainment system and a more contemporary layout. While the use of piano-black plastics and chrome accents might be considered excessive by some, these elements contribute to the vehicle's modern aesthetic. As expected, the Musso Grand includes a range of advanced driver-assistance systems, many of which are already standard in competing models but represent a novelty for this pickup. Additional modern features include a 360-degree camera view, underbody lighting, and a step on the rear bumper for easier access to the cargo area. The engine configuration remains unchanged, featuring a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine producing 149 kW of power. It can be paired with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Power is primarily sent to the rear wheels, though all-wheel drive and a four-wheel-drive system with a reduction gear are available options. According to reports, the suspension has been improved to provide a smoother ride on rougher terrain, while the body structure has become more rigid. The ground clearance is nearly 25 centimeters, ensuring favorable entry and exit angles for off-road conditions. Two suspension variants are available, one with coil springs and another with leaf springs. In Slovenia, the coil spring option will be offered first, allowing for a load capacity of up to 500 kilograms. Leaf springs can be ordered separately for increased load-bearing capability, along with various optional upgrades to the vehicle. The starting price for the KGM Musso Grand in Slovenia begins around €34,000 for the manual transmission version, while the automatic variant starts at €37,000. With additional equipment, the cost can rise to €41,000. Pickup trucks of this type are not commonly sold in Slovenia, with three main competitors dominating the market: the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, and Volkswagen Amarok. The Musso Grand aims to capture between 20 and 30 customers this year. According to estimates, the KG Mobility brand, including models such as the Tivoli, Korando Torres, and Rexton, is projected to sell approximately 300 vehicles in Slovenia this year. Available in a dual-cab configuration with a diesel-powered four-wheel-drive system, the Musso Grand represents a strategic move by KG Mobility to expand its footprint in the Slovenian automotive market. The vehicle’s combination of practicality, comfort, and technological advancements positions it as a viable alternative to established competitors. The Musso Grand is currently on display in Slovenia, with potential buyers able to experience its features firsthand. The model's availability underscores the growing interest in versatile, well-equipped pickup trucks tailored to meet diverse consumer demands.
