Simon Levy, a 40-year-old man from Tottenham, north London, has been sentenced to a whole-life tariff for the murders of two women and multiple sexual offenses. On Friday, he was found guilty of murdering Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo and Sheryl Wilkins, with the court ruling that his crimes warranted a lifetime in prison. Sheryl Wilkins, 39, was discovered in a Tottenham car park on 24 August 2025. Both women were killed in what prosecutors described as sexually motivated attacks. The third victim, a woman who survived the January 2025 assault, testified against Levy in court. Her account, combined with forensic evidence and witness statements, formed the basis of the conviction. The court noted that sexual violence was “inextricably interwoven with the killing” of both victims, reinforcing the gravity of his offenses. Levy’s legal journey was marked by a series of procedural missteps. While on bail, he committed a further 10 attacks across London, though he was charged with most of them. Despite these charges, he remained free until his eventual arrest in September 2025. Levy’s online activity has also drawn attention. Police seized his computer following his arrest, revealing a detailed history of searches and browsing. Among his queries were references to influential figures like Andrew Tate and Donald Trump, as well as topics related to crime, politics, and sports. He had also explored content about refusal to pay for sex and examined news articles on murder and rape. These findings suggest a troubling alignment of his interests with his criminal behavior. His earlier convictions, including sexual assaults at the Notting Hill Carnival and Camden Market, indicate a long-standing pattern of offending. Despite repeated contact with authorities, including a probation interview in 2024, he maintained a stance denying involvement in paid sexual encounters. The victims’ families expressed deep anguish over the outcome. Sheryl Wilkins’ mother, Mary, stated that Levy should never be released, describing him as a “threat to all women.” Wilkins’ sister, Lindsey Hicks, called his actions a “destruction of their lives.” Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo’s children described her as a “big character” and “full of life,” emphasizing the profound loss caused by his crimes.
