Delta State police have intercepted a vehicle containing military uniforms and suspected illicit drugs, according to authorities. The operation took place on Friday, September 18, 2026, along the Onitsha-Ondo route. Officers from the anti-cult unit in Asaba stopped a green Toyota Sienna registered under KP 527 AAA. The driver, Isaac Urji, a 45-year-old from Abia State, was arrested during the operation. During a search of the vehicle, police recovered cartons of suspected Tramadol and other illicit drugs, alongside military camouflage uniforms, boots, and hats. The police spokesperson, Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident, stating that the operation followed credible intelligence regarding the movement of suspicious goods from Onitsha toward Ondo State. Investigations are ongoing to determine the origin and destination of the seized items and to identify others potentially linked to the consignment. On the same day, officers from the Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Sector III, Ubulu-Uku, conducted a covert operation in Alisheme Community, Ika South Local Government Area. They arrested two individuals, Destiny Okafor, 18, and Sunday Bryan, 22, who were suspected of involvement in cultism and kidnapping-related activities. Preliminary findings indicated that the suspects were affiliated with the Neo Black Movement Confraternity, commonly referred to as Black Axe. During the operation, law enforcement recovered a locally fabricated single-barrel gun, a battle axe, two cutlasses, mobile phones, and a laptop. Another operation occurred on September 15, 2026, in Ogboli Quarter and surrounding areas of Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area. Led by the Divisional Police Officer of Issele-Uku Division, the operation involved collaboration with police anti-cult personnel, vigilantes, hunters, and Forest Security operatives. Four suspected cultists were apprehended during the raid, and weapons including two locally made pistols, a pump-action gun, and six live cartridges were recovered.
