"Dva srca, jedan put"

A family music ensemble from Radeč has unveiled new plans as they celebrate their first five-year anniversary of performing together. The group, originally known as Nagajivi tris, announced during their "Nagajiva night" event that they will now be called Nagajivi fantje. This change reflects the expansion of their lineup and their growing influence within the local community. The event took place in Radeč, where the ensemble has its roots, and featured a mix of original songs, a video clip created for a festival piece, and performances of hits from other groups. Guests such as Špas quintet, Jatna quintet, and Brez skrbi contributed to the evening's musical diversity. Additionally, students from the primary school Svibno and the male choir Papirničar from Jagnjenice joined the performance, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. The name change marks a significant milestone for the group, indicating both growth and a renewed identity.

The ensemble consists of five members: Dušan Lazar, Matija Lazar, Matevž Lazar, Blaž Novak, and Ambrož Rezec. Each member plays multiple instruments and contributes vocally. Dušan plays the bass guitar, trombone, and baritone, while also singing. Matija plays the harmonica and sings, and he also plays the drums when needed. Matevž plays the clarinet and sometimes sits in on the drums and sings. Blaž, the leader of the group, plays the guitar and sings. Ambrož is more focused on instrumentation, playing the harmonica, baritone, and bass, but he also sings. Their diverse skill set allows them to perform a wide range of musical styles and adapt to different settings. Over the past five years, the group has performed extensively, gaining recognition for their unique sound and energetic performances.

The ensemble’s journey began three years ago with the release of their first original song, "Današnja dekleta." This was followed by another composition, "Večna obljuba," which was inspired by the wedding of the group's leader, Blaž Novak, and his partner, Maja. The song was incorporated into a video clip that captured the essence of their personal story. Last year, they released another original track titled "Simona," a lively polka that quickly became popular among fans. The group remains committed to creating music that resonates with audiences and continues to build connections both on stage and off.

In addition to the Nagajivi fantje, other notable developments have emerged in the Slovenian music scene. The Gregor Kobal ensemble recently introduced a new original polka titled "Popoln par." The song tells the story of two individuals with differing desires, habits, and perspectives on life who find common ground despite their differences. It conveys a message about love, acceptance, and mutual understanding. The lyrics were written by Maja Jelenc, and the melody was composed by Gregor Kobal. The accompanying video was filmed on the picturesque property of Martinova izba in Štajerska, featuring actors Nina Bizjak and Nik Cerjak. Despite challenges posed by rain during filming, the team managed to create a compelling visual narrative that complements the song's theme and highlights the beauty of the Štajerska region.

Another recent event involved the singer Maj Vrhovec from the band Pop Design. He released a new song titled "Moja Dolenjska," dedicated to his hometown, family, and sense of belonging. The emotional ballad is accompanied by a video shot in various parts of Dolenjska. During the filming process, an unexpected encounter with a bear added a memorable twist to the production. While driving through the forest with director Lana Kučinič, Maj spotted the bear and had to reverse course. Fortunately, the bear remained in place long enough for the footage to be captured. This experience underscored the idea that achieving dreams does not always require large budgets, as Maj emphasized in reflecting on the project. His choice to keep the production simple highlighted the authenticity and heartfelt nature of the song.
