A young man in Croatia has been caught in a series of traffic violations involving an unregistered motorcycle, leading to legal consequences. The incident began on Wednesday, June 24, around 1:00 PM, when police officers in Bjelovar noticed a motorcycle without visible license plates moving along August Šeno Street towards Matica Hrvatska Street. The officers used their lights to signal the driver to stop, but the rider ignored the command and continued driving. During his escape, he ran a red light at the intersection with Krste Frankopan Street, overtook a line of vehicles, and fled toward Velika Sreda.

The following day, Thursday, June 25, the same young man arrived in Bjelovar again using the same motorcycle and parked it improperly on the sidewalk directly in front of the local police station. A police officer recognized both the vehicle and the rider, prompting further investigation. It was confirmed during this check that the motorcycle had not been registered or insured for more than a year and that the young man did not have the appropriate driver’s license category required to operate such a vehicle.

The police have determined that the young man committed multiple traffic offenses during his initial escape. As a result, an indictment proposal has been submitted against him, requesting fines ranging between €1,850 and €2,910, eight penalty points, and a six-month ban on operating motorcycles of category A. Additionally, for the offenses committed the following day, two traffic violation notices were issued, imposing fines of €260 and €290 respectively. These fines were reportedly paid immediately by the young man.

The incident highlights the issue of unregistered vehicles and underage drivers in the region. According to the police statement from the Bjelovar-Bilogora County, the young man's actions included evading law enforcement, running a red light, overtaking other vehicles illegally, and improper parking. All these actions were compounded by the lack of proper documentation and licensing for the motorcycle he was riding.
