In a press release accompanying its annual “Great Cat Protection Report,” the group claims the plight of feral cats has reached “a dramatic scale.” It accuses local authorities and the federal government of failing to act decisively, despite growing public concern over the issue. The report urges the introduction of a mandatory neutering requirement for free-roaming cats, a measure supported by a majority of cat owners according to the organisation.
