On July 3, 2026, the international day of cooperatives was marked in Ljubljana, highlighting the growing importance of cooperative models in addressing environmental, social, and economic challenges. In Slovenia, cooperatives have over 150 years of history and play a significant role in preserving rural traditions and supporting agricultural and forestry sectors. As of 2025, there were 395 cooperatives operating in various fields across Slovenia, employing 2,743 people.
