Líbanar byrjaðir að snúa aftur heim á leið

Over 640,000 Lebanese people who had to flee their homes due to conflict have returned to their homeland according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM). However, nearly half a million people remain displaced within Lebanon. Southern towns and villages in Lebanon suffered significant damage and destruction from Israeli military operations, leaving many unable to return home. The ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah has been in effect since June 21, but Israeli authorities plan to maintain military presence in southern Lebanon up to ten kilometers inside the country. Israeli and Lebanese governments reached an agreement to take steps toward lasting peace, including disarming Hezbollah, halting Israeli military attacks from Lebanon, and reducing the presence of the Lebanese army in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah rejected this agreement. Lebanese authorities report over 4,300 deaths in clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah since March 2. Approximately one million people were forced to flee their homes during the conflict, mostly in southern Lebanon and parts of Beirut.
