Dunne started third on the grid and remained in contention for a podium position throughout the race. However, Dunne and Noel León were both penalized with five-second time penalties for repeatedly exceeding track limits. This penalty significantly impacted Dunne's final standing, moving him from second to fourth place. Camara secured the win, marking his second feature race victory of the season with Invicta Racing. Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak from Thailand capitalized on Dunne's penalty, securing his first podium finish in second place. Meanwhile, Gabriele Minì faced a similar fate, receiving a five-second time penalty for colliding with Roman Bilinski at the first corner. Minì served this penalty during his pit stop. Despite starting from the last position on the grid, León managed to fight his way up to fourth place by the end of the race, although his penalty relegated him to seventh. Dunne's performance earned him 12 points, maintaining his position in fourth place in the championship standings. Nikola Tsolov leads the championship with 161 points, followed by Minì with 134 points. Camara holds third place with 125 points, while Dunne remains in fourth with 108 points, ahead of León, who has 75 points. This result follows a series of near-misses for Dunne, including a fourth-place finish at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone two weeks prior and a sixth-place finish at the Austrian Grand Prix. Previously, Dunne had achieved three consecutive runner-up finishes in Montreal, Monaco, and Barcelona. In the teams' standings, Campos Racing continues to hold the lead with 236 points. Rodin Motorsport, where Dunne competes, is in second place with 165 points, just two points ahead of MP Motorsport. The drivers are set to return to the track for round nine of the championship in Budapest.
