Audiences of RTV Slovenia have shared their feedback regarding the selection of guests in programs, according to reports. The responses collected by the rights watchdog Marica Uršič Zupan in July indicate that viewers remain engaged with RTV Slovenia's content even during the hottest part of the year. However, this year saw fewer complaints and suggestions compared to previous years, with criticism forming the majority of the feedback received. Viewers highlighted several issues, including minor and major errors, perceived bias, lack of coverage on certain events, excessive music volume in television and radio broadcasts, translation into Slovenian, and emphasis on foreign surnames. Nearly half of the responses were sent by viewers of Television Slovenia, many of whom focused on its news programming. Praise was given primarily to the cultural segment "Omizje," although some criticism was also directed towards it. A few critiques targeted the segments "Omizje on Media" and "Omizje on Diplomacy." Critics mainly pointed to the narrow ideological composition of interviewees in these programs. This was also the main complaint regarding the July edition of "Politically Speaking with Tanja Gobec." The news programming received significantly fewer criticisms than the sports programming, which mainly concerned coverage of the World Cup and cycling races in France. Viewers noted missing footage and some minor mistakes in the broadcast and commentators, though they also gave praise. Children’s and youth programming on TV Slovenia received commendations for the shows "Little Gray Cells" and "Club Slavica." One viewer criticized the translation of the term "think tank" as "mislišče," noting that while it has not yet been officially recorded in the Slovenian Literary Dictionary, language advisors at RTV Slovenia had already discussed and recognized it as appropriate. It might come as somewhat surprising that there were almost no comments about repeated programs and insufficient premieres this summer, which usually provoke a lot of audience feedback. It is true that viewers had access to some premiere content this year. If critics were to comment on this, they might note that the television audience is already accustomed to repeats or that the habit of watching repeated programs has become normalized. Looking at daily schedules, the summer of this year did not differ much from previous years in terms of repeat programming. The feedback highlights the importance of maintaining a balanced approach in selecting guests and ensuring diverse perspectives in programming. Language accuracy and proper terminology continue to be areas of focus for RTV Slovenia, reflecting ongoing efforts to meet audience expectations. The absence of complaints regarding repeated content suggests that viewers have adapted to the schedule, indicating a shift in how audiences engage with television programming during the summer months.
