The video showed people scrambling to exit the premises, some coughing and struggling against the dense smoke. The building’s street-facing windows were blown out, leaving behind debris scattered across the sidewalk, including charred television sets, speakers, and an electric guitar. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul visited the scene and confirmed the death toll, stating that at least 27 people lost their lives. He noted that a musician performing at the bar had described seeing smoke emanating from a circuit breaker near the stage before the power went out. The band, which played roots music popular in rural areas, was among the first to notice a spark from a circuit breaker, which may have ignited the fire. The band's leader, Atipat Wijan, known as “Ice,” recounted the harrowing moments following the blaze. He described how his girlfriend, the lead singer Nahatai Sajjalert, was found undergoing CPR in the smoldering building but could not be revived. Other band members, including the keyboardist Puttipong and the drummer Nattapat, were severely injured and ultimately succumbed to their wounds. Family members of the victims gathered at the Institute of Forensic Science to retrieve the bodies of their loved ones, expressing grief and demanding accountability. Chanyanuch Pudmon, the sister of the late keyboardist Preutthipong, emphasized the need to honor the memory of the deceased rather than dwell on their current state. “He would not want everyone to see him as he is now, but please remember his smile on stage,” she said.
