Romanian students have dominated the European Geography Olympiad held in Varna, Bulgaria, securing first place among nations with five gold medals and three silver medals. The competition brought together students from multiple European countries who participated in theoretical and practical exams covering physical and human geography, as well as their ability to analyze and interpret geographic information. The Romanian team, consisting of eight students, was recognized by the Ministry of Education through an official Facebook post, highlighting their achievements. Among the participants were four gold medalists and three silver medalists across two categories: 'Junior' and 'Senior'. The students were coached by teachers from the National College of Iași and the Ministry of Education and Research.
