According to police sub-inspector Devendra Reddy, the labourers had started their workday around 6am in Madnal village, where they were engaged in clearing weeds from cotton crops. After completing their tasks, they returned to their village in a pickup vehicle. The vehicle, which was reportedly traveling at high speed, lost control and struck an electric pole on the roadside. The collision resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to 21 others. Among the injured, an 11-year-old boy suffered a severe head injury and is currently in critical condition at Shahapur Hospital. A total of 14 injured individuals were transferred from Shahapur Hospital to Gulbarga for further medical care. The remaining seven received treatment at the hospital where the accident occurred. The incident has raised concerns about road safety in rural areas, particularly concerning the use of vehicles transporting workers. The pickup vehicle, used for transporting daily wage earners, appears to have been involved in a high-speed collision that led to multiple casualties.
