The reorganisation of outpatient work must not reduce the availability of private doctors

The article discusses a planned reorganization of administrative work in family medicine clinics at the Ljubljana Health Center (ZD). Representatives from the Slovenian Health Insurance Institute (ZZZS), the Ministry of Health, and ZD met to discuss this change. The ZZZS emphasized the importance of maintaining scheduled office hours to ensure patients have consistent access to their personal doctors. They expressed support for efforts to reduce administrative burdens on family physicians but stressed that the reorganization should not decrease patient access to services, worsen continuity of care, or shift burdens to other parts of the healthcare system. The proposed trial project would start in September and be implemented in two clinics, with the goal of improving service quality and working conditions while preserving essential patient care.
