In September 2024, the city council of Ralsko approved the sale of land and part of three other plots near the industrial zone and Židlov village for storage purposes. The city intended to sell these properties to the arms manufacturer DSS, which planned to store weapon systems without ammunition. However, the signed contract stated the purchase was for building a private shooting range, contradicting the initial purpose. The transaction occurred rapidly—within a month—from the announcement on the official notice board to receiving payment from DSS. The city sold the property for over 22 million Czech crowns, significantly above the appraised value. Local residents expressed concern and disbelief at the speed and lack of consultation regarding the decision.
