Restrictions imposed due to severe bee rot in the Formina area

An outbreak of severe bee colony disease has been confirmed in the area of Formin, prompting authorities to implement restrictions. The official veterinarian from the Republic of Slovenia's Food Safety, Veterinary Medicine, and Plant Protection Administration issued an order prohibiting the movement of bee colonies, bees, and queen bees between apiaries within the infected area and into or out of it. The affected area includes several municipalities surrounding Formin, within a three-kilometer radius of the infected apiary. All apiaries in the affected region must undergo clinical inspections by the National Veterinary Institute at Maribor University Faculty of Veterinary Science, with inspections required to be completed by October 30, 2026.
