Ex-editor and editor-in-chief of Seiska newspaper is suspected of crimes against Ylen's editor-in-chief

Helsingin poliisi on valmis esitutkinnan lopputuloksista koskien Seiska-lehden juttukokonaisuutta, joka koski Ylen uutis- ja ajankohtaistoimituksen päätoimittaja Riikka Räisäsen parisuhdetta. Esitutkinnan mukaan kolme henkilöä – Seiska-lehden entinen toimittaja, päätoimittaja Jyrki Huotari sekä kolmas henkilö – on epäilty rikoksista. Rikosepäilyt siirtyvät nyt syyteharkintaan. Kolmen epäillyn henkilön rikosepäilyt ovat eri luonteisia. Entinen toimittaja epäillään yksityiselämää loukkaavan tiedon levittämisestä ja kunnianloukkauksesta. Päätoimittaja Jyrki Huotari epäillään kunnianloukkauksesta ja päätoimittajarikkomuksesta. JSN sai useita kanteluita Seiskan uutisoinnin osalta, mutta ei otannut kanteluita käsittelyyn, koska asiassa aloitettiin rikostutkinta. JSN:n puheenjohtaja Eero Hyvönen arvioi, että Seiskan uutisointi Räisäsestä oli poikkeuksellista Suomessa. Hyvönen korosti, että Räisänen on Ylen uutispäätoimittajana vallankäyttäjä, mutta hänen mukaansa olisi syytä pohtia, onko yksityiselämän asioiden kertomiselle riittäviä yhteiskunnallisia perusteita. JSN valvoo, että suomalainen media toimii eettisesti eli Journalistin ohjeiden mukaisesti.
Rikosepäilyt siirtyvät nyt syyteharkintaan, ja Helsingin poliisi on valmis esitutkinnan lopputuloksiin. Yle ei tavoittanut Huotaria torstai-iltapäivän aikana kommentoimaan rikosepäilyjä.
