Xbox Game Pass announces new games for September: Call of Duty tops the list; see it here

Microsoft has announced eight new games joining its Xbox Game Pass subscription service during the first half of September, with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War leading the list. The titles will be available for download starting Tuesday, September 1, through Tuesday, September 15, for subscribers of the Essential, Premium, and Ultimate plans. These games will be accessible without additional cost. Among the highlights is Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, which launches on September 8. Set during the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union, the game features locations such as East Berlin, Vietnam, and the KGB headquarters. It includes a single-player narrative campaign, traditional multiplayer mode, co-op zombie mode, and integration with Call of Duty: Warzone. The title marks a return to the franchise’s signature style while offering fresh content set in the 1980s. Other titles joining the Game Pass catalog include Shelldiver on September 1, Moonlighter 2 on September 2, Speedrunners 2 King of Speed on September 3, Dice a Million on September 4, The Royal Writ on September 10, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O World Stage on September 10, and RuneScape Dragonwilds on September 15. These games span genres ranging from action-adventure to role-playing and indie experiences, providing diverse options for players. At the same time, ten titles will no longer be available on the platform starting September 15. These include Commandos: Origins, Cricket 24, Cyberpunk 2077, Dead Cells, Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, Frostpunk 2, Mullet Madjack, Spiritfarer, Superliminal, and Train Sim World 5. The removal of these titles reflects Microsoft's ongoing effort to update the Game Pass library with newer releases and maintain relevance in the competitive gaming market. Xbox Game Pass offers three subscription tiers. The Essential plan starts at 169 pesos per month and provides access to online multiplayer, exclusive discounts, and a library of over 50 games. The Premium plan costs 219 pesos monthly and includes more than 200 games, cloud gaming on compatible devices, consoles, and PCs, plus new titles. The Ultimate plan, priced at 339 pesos per month, offers access to over 400 games across consoles, PCs, and mobile devices, along with EA Play, cloud gaming, and other perks. The announcement comes amid increased competition in the gaming industry, with platforms like PlayStation Plus also expanding their libraries. Microsoft continues to position Xbox Game Pass as a flexible and affordable option for gamers seeking variety without upfront costs. The inclusion of high-profile titles like Call of Duty reinforces the appeal of the service, particularly among core audiences who value regular content updates.
