'Would wake up at noon, hit gym by 5': Yogi's 'babua' dig at Akhilesh's UP CM tenure

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, made pointed remarks against former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav during a public event in Bulandshahr on Saturday. Addressing a gathering where he launched 57 development projects valued over Rs 574 crore, Yogi used a metaphor involving a figure known as "Babua" to critique Akhilesh’s tenure. He described how "Babua" would wake up at noon and be ready by 2 pm, heading to the gym by 5 pm, leaving little time for public engagement or developmental initiatives. According to him, these groups were overlooked, and the government failed to prioritize their well-being. He mentioned the closure of 29 sugar mills between 2007 and 2017, with 21 of them sold at minimal prices. This, he argued, led to economic distress among farmers and affected the sugar industry.
