Wildberries warehouse near Moscow burns after Ukrainian drone attack

The conflict in Ukraine has escalated with renewed attacks from both sides, marking another grim chapter in the ongoing war. On Sunday night, Ukrainian forces launched one of their largest drone strikes against Russian territory, targeting Moscow. According to reports, approximately 600 drones were directed toward the capital, with around 200 intercepted before reaching the city. The Russian Ministry of Defense later stated that a total of 822 Ukrainian drones had been shot down nationwide, though exact numbers of drones launched or successfully hitting targets remain unclear. Similar incidents occurred in other locations, including a pharmaceutical warehouse in Domodedovo, which burned down and caused damage to nearby residential properties. Reports indicate that multiple civilian structures, including schools, were affected by the strikes. In the southern region of Rostov-on-Don, at least three people died and one was injured during a separate drone attack. Meanwhile, Russia retaliated by launching ballistic missiles against Kyiv. Explosions were heard throughout the city, prompting Mayor Vitali Klitschko to urge residents to seek shelter. Falling debris ignited fires in commercial zones, with several vehicles engulfed in flames. Another fire broke out south of the city center, resulting in injuries among civilians. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that emergency services were responding to these attacks, stating that fires were quickly extinguished. He emphasized that Russian strikes consistently target civilian infrastructure, warning of an impending wave of further assaults. Zelenskyy also revealed that Russia has launched more than 1,550 drones, nearly 1,560 bombs, and 62 rockets and guided munitions into Ukrainian territory this week alone. He called upon Western allies to provide additional air defense systems, particularly the U.S.-made Patriot system, which he described as highly effective against such threats. Zelenskyy accused Russia of using North Korean-supplied weapons, drawing comparisons to the threat posed by North Korea’s missile capabilities in Europe.
