A new adventure park has opened in Slovenia's Završnica Valley near Žirovnica, offering visitors a range of high-adrenaline activities. The park, named No Ordinary Day (NOD), features more than 118 challenges spread across six different difficulty levels, including zip lines, climbing walls, and a 17-meter free fall into water. The facility, which officially opened last month, is described as the largest activity park in the country and is designed to cater to all age groups, from young children to elderly visitors. The park is situated in the scenic Završnica Valley, known for its cool climate and lush greenery beneath the towering Stol mountain. Unlike nearby tourist hotspots such as Lake Bled, this area offers a more tranquil escape during the summer heat. The park’s design incorporates natural materials, primarily wood, and was constructed with local craftsmen and suppliers. It includes 118 thrilling obstacles among tree canopies, ensuring that each family member finds their own challenge regardless of age. The park's layout includes eight zip lines over the Završnica stream, providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the Karawanks and the Kamnik, Savinja Alps. Visitors are required to undergo a safety briefing before participating in any activities. This involves familiarization with safety equipment such as harnesses, helmets, and protective gear. Instructors ensure that participants are properly trained and equipped before they begin their adventures. Jure Dovžan, the shift leader at the park, explained that the ideas behind the adrenaline challenges were inspired by similar parks in southern France and China. He noted that some members of the team had previously worked on high-altitude projects in Chinese adventure parks during the winter months. The park aims to provide a safe yet exciting environment for visitors, emphasizing that safety is the top priority. Before engaging in any of the activities, visitors must complete a brief training session. This ensures that everyone understands how to use the safety equipment correctly and follows proper procedures while navigating the courses. Instructors wear bright yellow shirts to make them easily identifiable, allowing them to assist visitors who might find the challenges too difficult or need guidance. The park caters to all generations, with activities ranging from gentle walks for young children to intense climbs for seasoned adventurers. One notable example cited by instructors was an 80-year-old visitor who joined his grandson for the experience. After enjoying the climb together, the grandfather decided to tackle the most challenging course himself, successfully completing the black-level polygon. Among the many attractions, the highlight for most thrill-seekers is the free fall from a height of 17 meters into water. This feature has become a major draw for visitors looking for an exhilarating experience. The park continues to attract attention as it provides a unique blend of nature, adventure, and safety, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists seeking an unforgettable outdoor experience.
