Four Slovenians participated in the grueling Badwater 135 ultra-marathon in California, completing the 217-kilometer race through Death Valley under extreme temperatures ranging from 42 to 50 degrees Celsius. The athletes included Nataša Robnik, who finished fourth among women and 16th overall, Alenka Pavc, who placed 21st, Mirko Bogomir Miklič, a veteran competitor who improved his personal record at age 61 and finished 25th, and Luka Videtič, the youngest and fastest of the group, finishing 15th. The event took place between July 27 and 29, 2026, starting at Badwater Basin and ending at Whitney Portal, with participants facing significant elevation changes and physical challenges. Nataša Robnik described encountering difficulties due to a tactical error during the race but ultimately managed to complete the course.
