The Serbian Army operates from Pasars and Pancira: Vučić on the Pasuljan meadows, PVO units started firing

Serbian military officials recently showcased a range of advanced weaponry and defense systems during a major field exercise held at two locations—Batajnica Air Base near Belgrade and the Pasuljanske Livade training ground in eastern Serbia. The event marked one of the most comprehensive demonstrations of the country's military capabilities to date, drawing high-level political figures including President Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister Djuro Macut, Defense Minister Bratislav Gasić, and Interior Minister Ivica Dačić. Over 130 pieces of equipment and more than 1,000 personnel from both the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces participated in the exercise, which included live-fire drills involving piloted and unmanned aerial vehicles, artillery, missile systems, armored units, robotic platforms, and intelligence-gathering technologies.

At the Pasuljanske Livade site, the exercise began with demonstrations of anti-aircraft systems known as "Pasars" and "Pancir," followed by coordinated attacks from artillery and rocket units designed for air defense. This was succeeded by simulated strikes from aviation, tank, mechanized infantry, and artillery units, alongside drones and systems for guided munitions. The exercise aimed to showcase the integration of various military branches and their ability to operate in tandem under realistic combat conditions. The event also highlighted the growing emphasis on modernization within the Serbian military, particularly in areas such as drone technology and precision-guided weaponry.

President Aleksandar Vučić addressed attendees following the exercise, emphasizing the importance of national security and territorial integrity. He stated that Serbia’s military has been increasingly capable of protecting its airspace and territory, adding that no regional power welcomes the strengthening of Serbia’s armed forces. Vučić noted that while some countries might prefer Serbia to align with their alliances, the nation remains focused on maintaining its sovereignty and independence. His remarks underscored the strategic significance of the military buildup, positioning it as a deterrent against external threats and a symbol of national pride.

The demonstration at Batajnica Air Base included the unveiling of domestically developed and modernized defense systems, highlighting Serbia’s efforts to bolster its indigenous arms industry. Among the displayed assets were fighter jets such as the MiG-29 and the "Orion" attack helicopter, as well as multi-barreled rocket launchers known as "Vampire." Additionally, several unmanned aerial vehicles were showcased, indicating Serbia’s increasing reliance on drone technology for surveillance and combat operations. These displays reflected broader trends in global military strategy, where technological advancement plays a crucial role in determining battlefield effectiveness.

Military officials emphasized that the exercises were conducted to test operational readiness and interoperability among different units.
