The government has ordered the filling of the gas storage:

The Croatian government has mandated that gas storage users, including PPD, HEP, Ini, and others, fill the Underground Storage Okoli to at least 85% of their total contracted capacity by October 1st, allowing a deviation of up to 5 percentage points. This ensures a minimum 80% filling level, aligning with European flexibility frameworks and domestic gas supply security needs. The decision aims to secure gas reserves for the heating season 2026/2027. As of July 22nd, the storage was filled to 51%. The government also tasked the guaranteed supplier, HEP-Plin or an associated entity, with securing an additional 1.165 billion kWh of gas to inject into available unused storage capacities. Minister of Economy Ante Šušnjar stated that existing user plans do not ensure sufficient filling levels but noted unused capacities that users are willing to voluntarily surrender. Additionally, the government amended previous decisions regarding the exploration area SAVA-07, transferring 60% of rights and obligations from Vermilion Zagreb Exploration to Ini, making Ini the sole owner of the 100% share in this area.
