Vizag Collector seeks comprehensive action plan for Bay City project

Visakhapatnam District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore has ordered officials to develop a comprehensive action plan for the proposed Bay City project, which is part of the Visakhapatnam Economic Region. The directive was issued during a meeting held at the Collectorate on Friday. The focus of the plan will include land use, infrastructure, tourism, investment opportunities, and strategic development corridors within the project area. During the meeting, the Collector emphasized the need for a detailed database of both government and private lands in the proposed Bay City area. This includes information on land extent, ownership, current usage, development potential, and suitability for future utilization. Officials from the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) and the Revenue Department were tasked with preparing this data. The Collector also requested a thorough land parcel mapping exercise, classifying land into categories such as residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, tourism, recreational, and infrastructure purposes. In addition, the Collector directed officials to assess land availability for both short-term and long-term projects. They were also asked to identify areas within the project zone that could support future development initiatives. An integrated connectivity plan connecting Bay City with the broader Visakhapatnam Economic Region was another key component of the directive. The Collector also highlighted the potential for developing Kailasagiri as a hub for wellness, recreation, and adventure tourism. Officials who attended the meeting included VMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Tej Bharat, Joint Collector Gobbilla Vidyadhari, Bheemunipatnam RDO Sangeet Madhur, Estate Officer Dayanidhi, and other relevant personnel. These officials are now responsible for implementing the Collector’s instructions and compiling the necessary documentation. The Bay City project represents a significant initiative aimed at boosting economic growth and urban development in the region. It is designed to integrate multiple sectors, including tourism and industry, while ensuring sustainable land use practices. The project's success hinges on meticulous planning and coordination among various departments and authorities.
