A Happy Start to the School Year in the Municipality of Ivančna Gorica

The new school year has begun in the municipality of Ivančna Gorica, where 1999 students will attend three main elementary schools and six branch schools. The day was particularly significant for 210 first-graders who crossed the school threshold for the first time. Local officials, including Mayor Dušan Strnad, Deputy Mayor Tomaž Smole, and the head of the municipal administration Dr. Andrejka Miše Glavič, attended the ceremonies and encouraged students and their parents. At the elementary school in Šentvid, 520 children will be enrolled this year, with 47 first-graders starting at the main school and nine at the branch school in Temenica. The largest school in Slovenia, Stična Elementary School, will welcome 1115 students, including 114 first-graders. Construction work on an extension and renovation of the building at the branch school in Višnja Gora is ongoing, which will affect the school year slightly. Officials assured students and parents that classes will proceed safely according to plans. Similar events took place at other schools, including Zagradec Elementary School, where 364 students will be enrolled.
