Venice, sailor thrown overboard by steamboat while trying to settle a quarrel between two engaged couples

A sailor was thrown into the water by a passenger aboard a night ferry in Venice while attempting to de-escalate a fight between two couples. The incident occurred around 1 AM near the Zitelle stop along the Giudecca Canal. According to initial reports, the couple had been drinking and began arguing loudly, drawing the sailor’s attention. The passenger allegedly waited for the sailor to turn before grabbing him by the legs and throwing him overboard.
