Belgium: Fire at a museum under construction in Brussels - Video
A fire broke out at the construction site of the future Kanal Museum in Brussels, damaging part of the facilities. The museum, a major cultural project in Europe, was expected to open by late November on a 40,000-square-meter area along a canal in the Belgian capital. The fire started on the roof of a building within the complex around 6 PM local time on Monday and was brought under control approximately two hours later. Firefighters stated the cause of the fire was unclear, and the museum management confirmed the fire occurred on the roof of the wing where the architecture center will be located. The new contemporary art center is being built on the site of an iconic industrial building from the 1930s, formerly a Citroën factory and exhibition space.
