The City Municipality of Celje is hosting a group of 20 Ukrainian children and four accompanying adults this week. The initiative is part of a broader effort organized by the Center for European Future (CEP) under the 'Summer for Ukrainian Children' program, which is part of the Ukraine Recovery Program. The goal of the program is to provide Ukrainian children with a safe and stress-free break, new experiences, socialization with peers, and temporary relief from the burdens caused by the war. The municipality aims to offer these children a week of carefree activities, including visits to local landmarks such as the Pelican Path, Celje Castle, Technopark Celje, Tropical House, the old town center, and activities at Šmartinsko Lake and Celje Open-Air Pool. The children will also participate in sports, creative, and social activities at Celje Lodge and take a day trip to the Slovenian coast.
