US Jews view Mamdani more favorably than Netanyahu, 7% say Hamas massacre justified - poll

A recent poll conducted by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research reveals that American Jews hold a more favorable view of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani compared to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to the survey, 44% of American Jews view Mamdani either very or somewhat favorably, while only 32% have a favorable opinion of Netanyahu. Additionally, a significant majority of US Jews expressed disapproval of former President Donald Trump's handling of various issues such as the economy, immigration, and Iran. When asked about the justification for the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, 7% of US Jews indicated that it was justified, although a strong majority (79%) did not justify the attack. Regarding Israel's military response, 73% of Jewish respondents believed it was justified. On the issue of whether Israel has committed genocide in Gaza, 49% of US Jews said no, while 30% said yes.
