The conflict between the United States and Iran has escalated dramatically, with both sides targeting critical infrastructure. On Saturday, Iran launched strikes against key installations in the Gulf region, including an oil facility in Kuwait and a power and water plant, according to Gulf state officials. Jordan was also hit, with Iranian state broadcasters reporting that fuel tanks at its Al-Azraq base were targeted. Jordan’s military confirmed it had intercepted 10 missiles without any casualties or damage. Meanwhile, the U.S. has not yet confirmed whether it has carried out the threats made by President Donald Trump, who recently warned of retaliatory action against Iranian infrastructure. Iranian state news agency IRNA reported that U.S. attacks had killed three people and injured eight in the southern province of Hormozgan. Local officials noted that 116 telecommunications towers were disabled, disrupting communications in parts of the region. In Khuzestan, the deputy provincial governor claimed that the U.S. had attacked 95 locations over the last ten days, with eight fatalities recorded. Regional tensions remain high as the situation continues to evolve. Mediators have attempted to restart talks, but hopes for a political resolution have diminished.
