He's accused of fixing it, and the whole thing could be even more bizarre.

A Croatian footballer, Damjan Đoković, is at the center of a scandal in Romanian football. The Romanian Football Federation's integrity department has launched an investigation into him over allegations of deliberately earning a yellow card during a match between his club, Cluj, and Botoşani on December 19th of last year. This is reportedly linked to a potential betting fraud involving 800,000 euros. According to reports, Đoković received a yellow card due to an argument, and the incident involved the club’s lawyer, Ioan Ivașcu. A former teammate and friend, Alessandro Caparco, claims the club itself is behind the accusations, suggesting they want to get rid of Đoković because of his high salary. Caparco argues that Đoković is a top professional who would not engage in such behavior and accuses the club of trying to ruin him. If the allegations prove true, Đoković could face a two-year suspension and a fine of around 60,000 euros, while the club might face relegation. Club owner Ioan Varga stated that if Đoković is found guilty, the contract will be terminated immediately.
