UP man rapes GF, kills her after taking sexual stimulant drug at hotel on birthday

A 23-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh has been charged with raping and murdering his 22-year-old girlfriend after allegedly taking a sexual stimulant drug during their meeting at a hotel on his birthday. The incident occurred in Firozabad, where the accused lured the woman, a Dalit, away from her home under the pretense of celebrating his birthday. The woman was returning to her native village for Raksha Bandhan when the accused convinced her to meet him on August 26. According to police, the couple traveled to a hotel in Firozabad, where the accused consumed a sexual stimulant drug and proceeded to sexually assault the woman. During the investigation, authorities recovered the woman’s mobile phone and tablets containing the drug from the accused’s possession. The accused reportedly confessed to using the drug and committing the rape. Early on August 27, he attempted to sexually assault the woman again, prompting her resistance. In response, he allegedly killed her, causing severe head injuries and internal bleeding, as determined by a postmortem report. The woman’s father filed a complaint at Shikohabad police station on August 27. The police have registered an FIR under the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS) sections 103(1) (murder) and 64(1) (rape), alongside provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) Prevention of Atrocities Act. The accused was subsequently arrested and presented before a court, where he was remanded in custody. Authorities are currently searching for a 24-year-old co-accused believed to have aided in the crime. The accused and the victim had studied together until Class 12. After completing her education, the woman pursued a BSc and a nursing course before securing employment with a quick e-commerce delivery service in Gurgaon. In a separate incident, police in Greater Noida encountered and fatally shot the main accused in the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl. The girl went missing on Friday afternoon, leading to an extensive search operation. Her body was recovered from an area near a pond in Haldoni village on Saturday morning. Residents gathered on the village’s main road and raised slogans. The girl’s family, who operate a sweet shop in the village, filed a missing person’s complaint at the Ecotech-3 police station on Friday night. Authorities formed five teams to locate the girl and conducted an intensive search operation. The recovery of the body prompted the registration of a case under sections 65 (rape) and 103 (murder) of the BNS, along with relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. CCTV footage and other intelligence helped identify the main suspect, who was apprehended for questioning on Saturday afternoon. However, the suspect allegedly concealed a weapon near the D-Park police outpost and opened fire on police officers when confronted. One officer sustained injuries during the exchange of fire, and the accused was pronounced dead after being hospitalized. In another case, a 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping his 11-year-old sister-in-law in Palwal, Haryana. The incident occurred on Tuesday when the victim, a Class 6 student, visited her father’s mosque in Hassanpur to retrieve a mobile phone charger. The suspect, who was staying at the mosque due to personal matters, allegedly lured the girl into a room and locked her inside before committing the act. The victim’s mother became concerned when the girl did not return promptly and alerted authorities after hearing screams. The victim was rescued by her father and others, but the suspect fled the scene. The girl was taken to the Civil Hospital in Palwal for treatment and was discharged after two days. Medical examinations confirmed the sexual assault, leading to the registration of an FIR under Section 6 of the POCSO Act. The suspect was arrested on Wednesday and is currently in police custody. Each of these cases highlights the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in addressing crimes involving sexual violence and ensuring justice for victims.
