Austrian actor Johannes Krisch has died at the age of 60 after a prolonged illness. He passed away in a hospital in Vienna, according to reports from Austria's press agency APA, which cited the theater company Theater in der Josefstadt, of which he was a long-time member. Krisch was widely regarded as one of Austria’s most prominent actors, known for his versatility across stage, screen, and television. Born in Vienna in 1966, Krisch initially trained as a carpenter before turning to acting. His career began with the Vienna-based ensemble theater, where he gained early recognition. In 1989, German director Claus Peymann invited him to join the Burgtheater, marking a pivotal moment in his professional life. Later, he became a key figure at Theater in der Josefstadt, where he remained associated for many years. Krisch’s talent extended beyond the stage.
