This follows a long weekend in late August, when the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday will be observed on August 28, providing another opportunity for rest and reflection. Additionally, the UAE National Day, known as Eid Al Etihad, will be celebrated on December 2 and 3, commemorating the country’s 55th anniversary. Ramadan, the holy month of fasting, is expected to commence on February 8, with Eid Al Fitr, the festival marking the end of the fast, beginning on March 9. Depending on the sighting of the crescent moon, the holiday could extend to March 12, granting residents a potential six-day break. If the moon is not visible on the 29th day of Ramadan, the fasting period will continue into the 30th day, adding an extra day to the Eid Al Fitr celebrations. Eid Al Adha, one of the most significant Islamic festivals, is anticipated to take place from May 15 to May 18. However, the exact dates remain contingent upon the official sighting of the Dhu Al Hijja crescent moon.
