Sugumar noted that the technique has already been applied successfully to summer crops such as sorghum, groundnut, and gingerly, and is now being extended to sugarcane in the region. The department plans to further expand the use of PPFM through subsidized distribution programs under central government schemes aimed at supporting demonstration plots for key crops including sorghum, groundnut, and castor.
